Who we are
Villas in Milos (villasinmilos.com) is a villa booking service operated by Andreas Christos Ballas (Tax ID / Α.Φ.Μ. 168903706), trading as Milos Concierge, registered at Paralia Odos Adamanta, 84800 Milos, Greece ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use this website, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.

What we collect
When you submit a booking request through this site, we collect:
- Your name, email address, and phone number
- Your requested check-in and check-out dates, number of guests, and the villa you're enquiring about
- Any message or special request you include with your enquiry
We do not collect payment card details through this website. Payment for confirmed bookings is arranged directly by bank transfer, using instructions we send you after your request is confirmed.
How we use it
We use your information to:
- Check villa availability and respond to your booking request
- Create and manage your reservation in our booking system (Hostaway)
- Send you booking confirmations, payment instructions, and related correspondence
- Meet our legal and accounting obligations (for example, retaining booking records for tax purposes)
The legal basis for this processing is the performance of a contract with you (handling your booking) and, where applicable, our legitimate interest in running and securing this website.
Who we share it with
We work with a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf:
- Hostaway — our property management system, used to manage listings, availability, and reservations.
- Postmark — our email delivery provider, used to send booking confirmations and other transactional emails.
- Our hosting provider, used to run this website and store booking records securely.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Cookies
This website does not use advertising cookies. Our office login area (used internally to manage bookings) uses a strictly necessary session cookie to keep staff signed in; this cookie does not track visitors to the public site.
Analytics
We use Umami, a self-hosted, privacy-focused analytics tool running on our own infrastructure at analytics.webartworks.com, to understand overall site traffic — for example, which pages are visited and how people find the site. Umami does not use cookies and does not collect personally identifiable information; it only records anonymized, aggregate usage statistics. This data is not shared with third-party advertising networks.
Maps
Some pages show a map, for example where our villas are, the places in our Milos guide, and our office. To draw the map, your browser loads the map images directly from Mapbox or, if Mapbox is unavailable, OpenStreetMap. As with any website your browser contacts, that provider receives your IP address and basic browser information with each request. We do not send them any other information about you.
How long we keep it
We retain booking-related data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described above, and afterwards for as long as required by applicable Greek tax and accounting law. If your enquiry does not result in a booking, we retain it only for a reasonable period to follow up, then delete it.
Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Ask us to delete your data, where we're not required to keep it
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Receive your data in a portable format

Children's privacy
This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
